You can only have 6 total Flaws and Merits collectively

Adding Flaws allow more bonus points (BP) to be distributed into the Talents, Skills, or Knowledges. The BPs can also be used to get S.P.E.C.I.A.L. points (3 BP for one S.P.E.C.I.A.L. point)

Ability Deficit (5) : You’re not in tune with your innate abilities, or maybe you just don’t have any. You have 5 less points to spend on either Talents, Skills, or Knowledges, though you can still spend freebies on them. You cannot, however, have an ability in this category higher than 2 at the start of the game.

Absent-Minded (3) : You have a lousy short-term memory, and need to make a roll to remember more than standard knowledge (like your name, address, etc.).

Addiction (1-4)
You have a strong craving for a substance, your body may have very strong reactions to going without the substance you desire. Different desires can lead to different withdrawals and differing severity.

Allergic (1-5)
You are allergic to some substance, in a manner not unlike mortal allergies. However, you do not get hives or sneeze, but are actually incapacitated by your reaction. If the substance enters your body the reaction will be very strong, though touch alone is enough to disturb you. Choose from the list below or make up the substance to which you are allergic.

Amnesia: (2)
You are unable to remember anything about your past, yourself or your family. Your life is a blank slate. However, your past may someday come back to haunt you. Over the course of the story, you and your character will slowly discover them.

Bad Sight: (2)
Your sight is defective. The difficulties of all dice rolls related to vision are increased. This Flaw is neither nearsightedness nor farsightedness; it is a minor form of blindness, and is not correctable. You may not take Acute Vision if you take this Flaw.

Bad sight (1-3)
All difficulties involving sight are increased by two. As a one point flaw, glasses or lenses can correct it, as a three point flaw, it cannot.

Bastet (3) – Makes you obsessed with any mystery you come across, and you’ll do anything to solve it. (If used on the same character page as “Curiosity” it only consume 1 flaw/merit slot)

Black and White (1-2): You see all situations in black and white, good and evil, etc. In situations where this limited, judgmental way of thinking may hinder your reaction to something or cause you to act socially inappropriate, add a +1 difficulty to social or whatever rolls.

Blind: (6)
You automatically fail all dice rolls involving vision. You cannot see-the world of color and light is lost to you. (You cannot take any other vision impairment flaws upon taking Blind.)

Cannibal – (2)
A preference rather than addiction to human flesh.

Child (1-3) : Your supernatural abilities manifested early. The depth of this flaw depends on just how young you are and on the situations you are likely to be in (if you’re eight years old and your party hangs out in a bar, you have to figure out have to get in). Quite likely, you also have the Short flaw.

Color Blindness: (1 pt)
You can only see in black and white. Color means nothing to you, though you are sensitive to color density, which you perceive as shades of gray.

Compulsion: (1-3)
You have a psychological compulsion of some sort which can cause you a number of different problems. You compulsion may be for cleanliness, perfection, bragging stealing, gaming, exaggeration or just talking.

Confused: (2)
You are often confused, and the world seems to be a very distorted and twisted place. Sometimes you are simply unable to make sense of things. You need to roleplay this behavior all the time to a small degree, but your confusion becomes especially strong whenever stimuli surround you (such as when a number of different people talk all at once, or you enter a nightclub with loud pounding music).

Curiosity (2) Your incredible curiosity often overrides your common sense. Resisting temptation requires a successful Wits roll, difficulty depending on the situation. A very bad flaw to take with certain evil sadistic Storytellers.

Cursed – (5)
You have been cursed with excruciatingly bad luck. Everyday life is a constant inconvenience. From stores running out of the goods you need just before you arrive to being a often target for pickpockets. (Cannot be taken by characters with above 3 LUCK or Charmed Existence)

Dark Fate (5) : You are doomed to suffer a horrible demise, or otherwise have some sort of icky unpleasant fate. You are aware of this, and can kinda make you rather depressed…

Dark Secret (1) : There’s something about you which you don’t want people to know, and it would be very bad if they did (or at least you think it would be).

Deaf : (4)
You cannot hear sound.

Deep Sleeper: (1)
When you sleep, it is very difficult for you to awaken. And roleplay how you never seem to be on time when you have an appointment early in the evening.

Deformity: (3)
You have some kind of deformity – a misshapen limb, a hunchback or whatever – which affects your interactions with others and may inconvenience you physically.

Devil’s Mark (7) : A Powerful Diabolical God has marked your body. Scared and branded parts of your body resembling witch’s claws and the number of the beast appear over you, your body would have cloven hooves and backward bending knees. Your shape would raise an abnormal amount of questions even in the multiverse. Holy Damage is significantly increased, you are more likely to be targeted for manipulation by Demons.

Disease carrier (4)
You carry a highly contagious disease, like rabies or HIV.

Disfigured (2)
A hideous disfigurement makes you ugly and easy to notice as well as remember. You therefore have a hideous Appearance,

Driving Goal: (3)
You have a personal goal, which sometimes compel and directs you in startling ways. The goal is always limitless in depth, and you can never truly achieve it. Choose your driving goal carefully, as it will direct and focus everything your character does.

Enemy (1-5) (most): Somebody’s out to hurt you or your reputation, or even kill you (or people close to you). A 1-point enemy is less than or comparable to your own ability, a 5-point enemy could easily kick your ass into next Tuesday.

Flashbacks (3) : When under pressure and/or in the presence of something which reminds you of something unpleasant in your past, you flashback to that past event. Whilst in a flashback, everything to you is as it was then.

Fragile Bones/Weak Alloy: (5)

Functional Multiple Personalities (3)
The character has multiple personalities, each personality does not know about the other. The character must role play a minimum of 2 personalities.

Gluttonous (5) – Something is wholefully wrong with your craving for food. You need an abnormal amount of food to sustain yourself. It is likely your character has turned to cannibalism or some other crime against nature. If your character does not eat for a two hours he will quickly receive hunger pains, few more hours will lead into fatigue and mental hindrance. Half a day or more will lead into a frenzy. These effects do not stack while the character is sleeping but they will always wake up with hunger pains.

Hard of hearing (1)
All difficulties involving hearing are increased.

Hatred: (3)
You have an unreasoning hatred of a certain thing. This hate is total and largely uncontrollable. You may hate species of animal, a class of person, a color, a situation- anything. You constantly pursue opportunities to harm the hated object or to gain power over it.

Haunted (3): A wraith is plaguing your existence for some reason. Maybe you’re its murderer, maybe you have something it wants , or maybe it just doesn’t like you. Wraiths can do all sorts of weird things to you, move things around, possess you and your friends, inhabit your dreams or your refrigerator, etc…

Hero Worship (1) : You absolutely idolize someone, and disobeying them requires an effort of will. You also are at +4 difficulty to any roll that may force you to admit/realize that your hero may be in the wrong.

Horrid Soul: (6)
You have a soul cursed by the gods and claimed by devils. Holy magic has absolutely no effects on you besides damaging. Religions who follow gods shun you and stepping onto a holy site can cause your physical body to burst into flames.

Illiterate: (1)
Through lack of education or programming or as the result of a condition like dyslexia, you are unable to read or write.

Impatient: (1)
You have no patience for standing around and waiting. You want to do things now and devil take the hindmost. Every time you are forced to wait around, you may go haring off on your own instead.

Inbred: (1-5)

Incoherent: (5)
You are incapable of human speech. Maybe your jaw has collapsed or you’ve been abandoned in the sewers for too long. Pointing, grunting, wheezing and wildly gesturing are all within your repertoire, but actually forming words is not. (This cannot be taken along with the Mute Flaw.)

Inferiority Complex: (1-4)
You may just be discouraged because that robot has a Nuclear Warhead at the ready, or you might be scared to talk to that really cute girl over there.

Intolerance: (1)
You have an unreasoning dislike of a certain thing. This may be an animal, a class of person, a color, a situation, or just about anything at all.

Isolated Upbringing (2) : You were raised in your supernatural society, or were somehow otherwise sequestered away from “normal” life, so you have trouble dealing with this Outside-World thing. Dealing with any community outside the one in which you were raised adds -1 to social difficulties,

Lame (3)
Your legs are injured or otherwise prevented from working effectively. A character may not take this Flaw along with the Merit Double-Jointed.

Lazy: (3)

Lifesaver (3-5) : You revere all life and will not risking killing someone at all costs.

Light-Sensitive (5) – You are very sensitive to the light, your skin seems to sizzle and smoke under direct sunlight. Elongated exposure will lead into bubbling of your flesh and blood. UV Lights and other strong artificial light sources will have similar effects. Holy light does not have any effect on you unless you are Cursed or Devil’s Mark.

Low Self-image: (2)
You lack self-confidence and don’t believe in yourself.

Lunacy: (2)
You act paranoid and spastic during the night.

Magical Addict (3) – You have a strong obsession with magic and love using it for even the most mundane of task. Anytime you get a chance to use your magic, you will.

Magically Inept (1-4)
Those who are magically inept have trouble getting the magic flow up and are also more vulnerable to magic itself, taking increased damage and more drastic effects from debuffs.

Monstrous (3)
There is something wholly monstrous about you. You scarcely look human, but the manner in which you differ is up to you. Perhaps you have grown scales or warts all over your body.

Mute (4)
Your vocal apparatus does not function, and you cannot speak at all. You can communicate through other means -typically writing or signing. (This cannot be taken with the Incoherent flaw.)

Narc: (3)
You are known to be a snitch, an informer firmly planted in the sheriff’s pocket. Those on whom you might yet inform loathe you as a result, feeding you misinformation when they can in an attempt to discredit you. Given the opportunity, they might do you mischief

Necrophile: (3)
No, you don’t have sex with the dead, but you certainly enjoy their company. You are obsessed with dead bodies and “invite” them over to your domain. Your haven is tastefully decorated with severed and mutilated body parts of all kinds. You talk to your dead friends, dance with them, make art out of them and entertain frequently. Some people of particularly refined temperament may need courage to enter a room where you’ve left your guests and their accouterments.

Nightmares: (1)
You experience horrendous nightmares every time you sleep, and memories of them haunt you during your waking hours. Some of the nightmares may be so intense that you mistake them for reality.

Obsession (3)
You have a strong obsession with a specific item that can lead you into problems. It may be a sentimental family photo that you can’t let go or it may be the family sword, the only sword you will ever let yourself fight with.

Offensive to Animals (1) : For some reason, animals fear you or just don’t like you.

Old Flame: (2)
Someone you once cared deeply for is now with the enemy. He still attempts to play on your sympathies “for old times’ sake” while working against you. You most likely will not act against him unless the situation becomes life-threatening.

One Arm (3)
You have only one arm – choose which, or determine randomly at character creation. It is assumed that you are accustomed to using your remaining hand. A character may not take this Flaw along with the Merit Ambidextrous.

One Eye: (2 pt)
You have one eye – choose which, or determine randomly during character creation. You have no peripheral vision on your blind side.

Overconfident: (1)
You have an exaggerated and unshakable opinion of your own worth and capabilities-you never hesitate to trust your abilities, even in situations where you risk defeat. Because your abilities may not be enough, such overconfidence can be very dangerous. When you do fail, you quickly find someone or something else to blame. If you are convincing enough, you can infect others with your overconfidence.

Pacifist (6) :A more extreme version of Lifesaver, you refuse to do any physical harm to anyone for any reason.

Paraplegic (6)
You can hardly move without assistance, such as a pair of crutches or a wheelchair. Even then it can be painful and cumbersome to do so. Even if you had the appendages, you’d have a tough time using them. A character may not take this Flaw along with the Merit of Double-Jointed.

Parasitic Infestation: (4)
Other creatures live on and inside you. Exotic hermovores—chiggers, gnats, ticks, lice, mosquitoes, leeches and unnameable bloodsucking fungal spores—consider the creases, folds and scabrous layers of your skin delightful. Your flesh continuously twitches and writhes, and living things burrow inside you, possibly even nesting in the cavities of your body. Despite all your ingenious methods of discouraging them, this loathsome hosting will not dispense. You cannot command these vermin in any fashion. The constant itching puts you on edge.

Permanent Wound (4) : For some reason, you have a wound that never heals, which is effectively a permanent lethal health level. If you repair the damage with magic/super-science, the wound re-opens by the next day.

Phobia (Mild): (1)
You have an overpowering fear of something. You instinctively and illogically retreat from and avoid the object of your fear. Common objects of phobias include certain animals, insects, crowds, open spaces, confined spaces and heights.

Phobia (Severe): (2)
You have an overpowering fear of something. Common objects of fear include certain animals, insects, crowds, open spaces, confined spaces, heights, and so on.

Phylactery (7) : Your body is really just a possesed corpse, weakwilled human, magically enchanted set of bones, or powerful manifestation. Your soul is encased in a exotic gem. The gem itself is very enticing, any thief would take the chance to steal it. If the gem travels to far away from you body or is shattered. The character will instantaneously parish.

Privacy Obsession (3)
You carry the respect for privacy to extremes. It takes special effort to enter another being’s dwelling without been invited. When disturbed in your manse by an uninvited guest, you can frenzy.

Sadism/Masochism (2)
Either you enjoy causing pain or love receiving. But either way, it can land you into trouble when you start going overboard.

Sensation Junkie (2) : You’re addicted to sensation, and will do anything to find new means of stimulation. You must roll Intelligence or Endurance to resist taking the opportunity to try a new kick, difficulty depending on the situation.

Short (1)
You are well below average height, and have trouble seeing over high objects and moving quickly. In some circumstances, this will give you a concealment bonus.

Short Fuse: (2)
You are easily angered. This is a dangerous Flaw; don’t choose it without careful thought.

Shy: (1)
You are distinctly ill at ease when dealing with people and try to avoid social situations whenever possible. Don’t expect such a character to make a public speech.

Slow healing (3)
You have difficulties healing your wounds or ciruitry.

Soft-Hearted: (1)
You cannot stand to watch others suffer-not necessarily because you care about what happens to them, but simply because you dislike the intensity of emotion. If you are the direct cause of suffering, and you witness it, you will experience days of nausea and nights of sleepless grief. You avoid situations where you might have to witness suffering and will do anything you can to protect others from it.

Special Responsibility: (1)
You have something that must be taken care of often or occasionally

Speech Impediment: (1)
You have a stammer or some other speech impediment which hampers verbal communication. Do not feel obliged to roleplay this impediment all the time, but in times of duress or when dealing with outsiders, you should attempt to simulate it.

Superstitious (2)
The character has beliefs of ghost and spirits and is quick to jump at the shadows.

Territorial: (2)
You are extremely territorial. You do not like to leave your territory, nor do you like to have strangers enter it. In fact, you get nervous and disoriented while outside your territory. And you may frenzy when strangers enter your territory unless they have your permission.

Twisted Upbringing: (1)
Your caretakers were quite malevolent and taught you all the wrong things about society. Your faulty beliefs are likely to get you into a great deal of trouble. Over time, after many hard lessons, you can overcome this bad start. But until then, you will continue to believe what you were first told.

Twitch (1)
You have some sort of repetitive motion that you make in times of stress. Examples include a nervous cough, constantly wringing your hands, cracking your knuckles and so on.

Ulterior Motive (2) : You have more reason to be with your comrades than your like for them or for their common goals. Whether this motive is sinister or not, it’s a secret for whatever reason, and if you are suspected of this motive, things won’t look too good for you.

Uncontrollable (5) – For whatever reason your character has a constant internal war of Rage and Passion. Your character is very prone to frenzys. Prepare for a short and hellish ride.

Vainglorious (1-3)
You might be proud of yourself for doing small things time to time, Or today you’ll tell everyone about the time you triumphantly fixed your kitchen sink for the 87th time.

Withered Leg (3)
For whatever reason, one of your legs does not work as well as the other. You move at half normal speed.
